Faisalabad:A collective wedding ceremony was organized in Faisalabad at a local market on Sheikhupura Road under the Punjab Dhee Rani Program launched in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz where Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Sohail Shaukat Butt attended as the chief guest while Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar, Secretary Social Welfare Tariq Qureshi, Members of Assembly Azad Ali Tabassum, Jafar Ali Hucha, Faqir Hussain Dogar, PML-N leader Dr Najma Afzal, Khawaja Muhammad Islam, Rana Waris Hussain, Director Social Welfare Khalida Rafiq and other officers and party leaders were also present under the Punjab Dhee Rani Program a total of 111 deserving couples were married including eight brides from the Christian community and daughters of prisoners currently lodged in jail Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz provided a salami of Rs 200,000 to each married couple through ATM cards addressing the ceremony Provincial Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt said that the government has set a target to complete the marriages of 5,000 girls by February 15 and this target will be achieved on time he said that the Punjab Dhee Rani Program is a practical example of dignified marriages social protection and empowerment of deserving daughters and the main objective of the program is to share the financial burden of parents facing economic hardships he added that the Punjab government is taking practical steps for the social protection of daughters in all districts whereas previous governments only made claims while Maryam Nawaz has set an example of practical service he further stated that all expenses of the collective marriages are being borne by the Punjab government and the Chief Minister has extended a compassionate hand over the heads of daughters assuring that the Punjab government will continue supporting deserving families across all districts during the ceremony prayer was offered by Peace Committee member Allama Riaz Kharl while Christian leader Father Emeric Joseph was also present.
