Renowned Islamic preacher and prominent global religious figure Maulana Tariq Jamil met with Sahibzada Maulana Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, Chairman of the Central Ulema Council Pakistan, during a detailed session focused on contemporary religious, academic and intellectual concerns.

Speaking at the meeting, Maulana Tariq Jamil underscored the vital role played by universities, scholars and intellectuals in progressive societies. He described these institutions as essential think tanks that help nations examine emerging challenges and develop long-term solutions.

He noted that pulpits and mosques can serve as powerful platforms in combating extremism and promoting a balanced Islamic society rooted in the timeless principles of Islam. He added that today’s global environment demands that the youth be liberated from narrow-mindedness, racism and all forms of prejudice.

Maulana Tariq Jamil highlighted the necessity of presenting Islam to the world as a comprehensive, universal religion, free from divisions of caste, ethnicity, social class or group identity. Such an inclusive message, he stressed, ensures equal rights and responsibilities for all human beings and reflects the true purpose of human creation as set out in divine guidance.

Reflecting on the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he stated that the Prophet’s exemplary character formed the bedrock of his successful mission. The Prophet (PBUH) upheld justice, delivered rights to the deserving, and treated the weak and poor with compassion—qualities that drew countless individuals toward Islam.

Sahibzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi paid tribute to Maulana Tariq Jamil’s international religious services and reaffirmed that the Central Ulema Council Pakistan continues to promote Islam’s just and balanced identity from the pulpit. He added that the Council remains committed to contributing towards peace, harmony and stability in Pakistan.
