Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail visited Pakpattan and Okara on the occasion of Christmas, where he participated in the festivities of the Christian community. Regional Police Officer Sahiwal Rana Ayaz Saleem was also with him on this occasion. Commissioner Sahiwal Division cut Christmas cakes with Christian brothers in Pakpattan and Okara, gave them gifts and also distributed Eid. He congratulated the Christian community on Christmas and said that protecting the rights of minority communities and sharing their joys is among the top priorities of the Punjab government. Dr. Asif Tufail said that followers of all religions enjoy complete religious freedom in Pakistan and the government is taking practical steps for the welfare of minorities. He emphasized that mutual respect, tolerance and unity are the foundation of a strong and peaceful society. During the visit, the Commissioner Sahiwal Division also inspected the Pakpattan and Okara Christmas Facilitation Bazaars and took a detailed look at the various stalls set up there. He reviewed the availability, prices, quality and cleanliness of essential commodities in convenience markets and directed the concerned officers to provide maximum relief to the citizens, especially on the occasion of the festival. RPO Rana Ayaz Saleem, while reviewing the security arrangements on the occasion, said that foolproof security arrangements have been made in churches, convenience markets and public places on the occasion of Christmas so that the citizens can celebrate their joys without fear and danger. Representatives of the Christian community thanked the Commissioner Sahiwal Division and the provincial government and said that the participation of the administration in the Christmas festivities and provision of facilities have been ensured.
