WASA Quetta Delegation Visits Faisalabad to Review Sewerage and Water Supply Systems

Faisalabad: A two-member delegation of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Quetta visited Faisalabad to gain insight into WASA Faisalabad’s sewerage operations and water supply distribution system. The high-level delegation also visited the Water Treatment Plant Phase-I and termed the project a state-of-the-art facility. Managing Director WASA Quetta Mujib-ur-Rehman Kakar and Chief Engineer Ramzan Achakzai visited WASA Faisalabad and held a meeting with the officers of WASA Faisalabad. MD WASA Faisalabad Saqib Raza was represented by Director I&C Shehryar Hassan, while Director Construction Awais Jamal and Director French Project Phase-I Muhammad Asad were also present on the occasion. During the meeting, officers of WASA Faisalabad and WASA Quetta exchanged views on various matters, including steps taken for digital transformation within the department such as computerized billing systems, online complaint portals, customer databases, monitoring tools, and other related initiatives. Briefings were also given on measures aimed at improving departmental performance, transparency, and public outreach. Later, the WASA Quetta delegation visited the French Water Treatment Plant Project Phase-I at Novelty Bridge, where Director Muhammad Asad provided a detailed briefing on the process of water intake from the canal, treatment procedures, preparation of potable water, assessment of citizens’ demand and supply, and the water distribution mechanism. The Managing Director WASA Quetta and the Chief Engineer highly appreciated the performance of WASA Faisalabad and emphasized the need to benefit from its experience.
