Faisalabad: On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the divisional administration has divided the city into 15 zones and established the “Hello Faisalabad Municipal Corporation Motorbike Squad” to ensure the provision of municipal services to citizens. Faisalabad Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar distributed the keys of e-bikes among the concerned squad members at the Municipal Corporation. Talking to the media, the Commissioner said that the squad will operate within their respective zones and report issues related to encroachments, WASA matters, street lights, sanitation, dog control, removal of wall chalking, illegal parking, missing manholes, and the condition of curb stones to the relevant departments and sections. He further stated that a digital system under “Hello Faisalabad” will be introduced soon, under which teams of the Municipal Corporation, WASA, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), FDA, Punjab Food Authority, Environmental Protection, Board of Intermediate, and the Waste Management Company will ensure prompt response and effective delivery of municipal services. Under this system, citizens will also be provided with a WhatsApp number to lodge and identify complaints. The Commissioner emphasized to the field staff assigned to the zones to perform their duties responsibly and ensure maximum efforts in resolving public issues, adding that the Chief Minister of Punjab has set a strict deadline for ensuring municipal services, leaving no room for negligence or inattention. Additional Commissioner Coordination Tanveer Murtaza, Chief Officer Malik Murtaza, and other officers were also present on the occasion.
