Faisalabad: Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar has directed the Municipal Corporation to expedite the completion of ongoing works on 40 major roads of the city, including patchwork, activation of street lights, painting of curb stones, and lane marking. While chairing a meeting, he received a briefing from the designated supervisory officers on the progress of work being carried out on various roads and instructed them to continue strict monitoring until all assigned targets are achieved. The Commissioner stated that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued clear directives regarding the provision of municipal services to citizens, under which emergency measures are being implemented across the city’s main thoroughfares. He emphasized that while carrying out patchwork and other construction activities, special care must be taken to protect citizens’ rights and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow. The Commissioner also sought details regarding the installation of poles and activation of street lights on Sargodha Road. He stressed the need for WASA and the Municipal Corporation to further accelerate the ongoing work of covering sidewalks and drains, clearly instructing that desilting of drains must be carried out prior to covering. In addition, he reviewed the targets assigned to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) for the rehabilitation of parks and directed that no negligence should be shown in transforming parks into genuine recreational spaces for the public.
