RPO Faisalabad Reviews Security Measures for Chinese and Foreign Nationals at FIEDMC

Faisalabad: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad, Sohail Akhtar Sukhera chaired a high-level meeting at the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) to review and strengthen security arrangements for Chinese and other foreign nationals, particularly those associated with industrial and power projects in the region.
The meeting was attended by CEO FIEDMC Quratul Ain Memon, City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Sahibzada Bilal Umar, SSP Operations Farqan Bilal, SSP Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), SSP Special Branch and senior officers of the Special Protection Unit (SPU).
During the briefing, CEO FIEDMC and other officers presented a detailed overview of the prevailing security situation at FIEDMC and adjoining industrial zones. The briefing covered existing deployment, threat assessment, access control mechanisms, emergency response protocols and coordination among law enforcement and intelligence units.
According to the police spokesperson, a sub-office for foreigner registration has been established within FIEDMC to streamline and ensure timely registration of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens, aimed at improving monitoring and security coordination.The spokesperson further stated that, for the facilitation of the business community and effective processing of foreign-related matters, a direct operational linkage with the Ministry of Interior has been established.
Addressing the meeting, the RPO Sohail Akhtar directed the CPO Faisalabad, SSP CTD, SSP Special Branch, and SPU officers to conduct a fresh and comprehensive security audit of all Chinese nationals, sensitive installations, industrial units, and power projects operating in the region. He emphasized that all vulnerabilities must be identified and addressed through a coordinated and intelligence-driven security plan.The RPO Sohail Sukhera also instructed that foolproof security arrangements be ensured for foreign engineers, technical staff, workers, and power sector projects, stressing that negligence or lapses in security would not be tolerated. “Providing a safe, peaceful and secure environment to foreign nationals is among our top priorities,” RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera said. He added that any compromise on the security of Chinese and other foreign nationals would be unacceptable.He further emphasized that enhanced and visible security measures at FIEDMC and other development projects were essential to instill a sense of safety among foreign investors and workers, ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of industrial and development activities in the region.
