Rs 425 million monthly target set; strict action against defaulters, focus on commercial consumers
Faisalabad: Managing Director WASA Faisalabad, Saqib Raza, has made it mandatory to achieve the monthly revenue recovery budget target and clearly stated that no slackness in meeting recovery goals will be tolerated. He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the Revenue Directorates. The MD said that WASA Faisalabad has fixed a monthly revenue recovery target of Rs 425 million in its annual budget, making it imperative to ensure recovery in line with the approved budget targets. He emphasized that achieving the assigned revenue targets is compulsory for revenue officers and staff, and any shortfall will not be acceptable under any circumstances.
He directed that special focus be maintained on revenue recovery from commercial consumers, adding that if any commercial consumer refuses to pay bills or outstanding dues, assistance from the Para Force should be sought to ensure recovery. The Managing Director further stated that if revenue recovery is being affected in any sub-division or area due to sewerage or water supply issues, the Operations Directorate should be taken on board immediately to resolve such issues on a priority basis. He noted that this approach would not only provide citizens with improved sewerage and water supply services but would also help enhance revenue recovery. The MD clarified that an increase in revenue recovery would enable the provision of additional facilities for revenue officers and staff. The meeting was attended by Deputy Managing Director (Admin) Shoaib Rasheed, DMD O&M Usman Zia, Director I&C Shehryar Hassan, Directors Revenue Muhammad Iqbal Malik and Umar Iftikhar, along with other officers.
