Faisalabad: A three-member team of officers from the Gilgit Development Authority (GDA) visited the FDA Complex and participated in a briefing session. The team comprised Director General GDA Izharullah, Chief Engineer Arif Hussain and Assistant Director Coordination Muhammad Mustafa. Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry warmly welcomed the visiting delegation and, during the briefing, apprised them of the FDA’s organizational structure, jurisdiction, legal framework, urban development functions, sources of revenue and strategies for implementing various development policies. Director IT Yasir Ejaz Chattha, PSO Shabbir Sajid Gujjar and other officers were also present on the occasion. The Director General FDA shared his administrative experiences and discussed various aspects of the Authority’s working with the GDA officers. He informed the delegation that several measures are being taken to enhance FDA’s revenue generation, while the use of digital technology has ensured fast and efficient service delivery. Highlighting key features of the Peri-Urban Structure Plan, building control mechanisms, approval of housing schemes and future urban development planning, he stated that FDA City is a mega project in the housing sector, offering all essential and modern living facilities.
He further informed that a state-of-the-art sports complex has been established in FDA City, providing international-standard indoor games facilities. The administrative affairs of the complex are being managed under the supervision of a management committee headed by the Faisalabad Commissioner. The Director General FDA also briefed the delegation on certain challenges related to city master planning as well as development and administrative issues.
Director General GDA Izharullah thanked the DG FDA for the warm hospitality and shared insights into various aspects of GDA’s master planning. He said that the visit provided valuable awareness about FDA’s development strategy, administrative framework, jurisdiction and policies for the implementation of relevant laws, while also offering an opportunity to benefit from the experiences of FDA officers. Later, Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry presented a commemorative shield to Director General GDA Izharullah.
