Toba Tek Singh:To ensure the implementation of the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for improving municipal services, Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar paid a detailed visit to Toba Tek Singh district.During the visit, the Commissioner was briefed on the ongoing grand cleanliness and beautification operation being carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Umar Abbas Mela along with the district’s overall administrative performance.The Commissioner was informed that under the Suthra Punjab Programme, all district machinery and human resources had been fully mobilised to carry out a comprehensive cleanliness and beautification drive across Toba Tek Singh. As a result, visible and positive changes have been observed across the district. The operation included extensive cleaning of parks, green belts, graveyards, rehri bazaars and other public places, while special measures were taken to beautify major roads and intersections.
Commissioner Faisalabad, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner also visited the District Headquarters Hospital Toba Tek Singh, where he inspected various departments, reviewed cleanliness conditions in wards, assessed the availability of medicines and checked the functionality of medical equipment. He directed the hospital administration to ensure a clean, dignified and hygienic environment for patients alongside quality healthcare services, stressing that cleanliness standards must be maintained at all costs.Later, the Commissioner inspected Teko Park, Ganj Shakar Park and the General Bus Stand, where sanitation arrangements, plantation, walking tracks and other public facilities were reviewed. He was also briefed on steps taken to improve civic amenities, including restoration of streetlights, lane marking, zebra crossings, road patchwork, removal of encroachments, wall-art beautification and action against illegal banners and flexes.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar said that noticeable and positive improvements in cleanliness, beautification and municipal services had been achieved in Toba Tek Singh under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner. He added that providing citizens with a clean, safe and pleasant environment was a top priority of the Punjab government in line with the Chief Minister’s vision. He further announced that more parks would be developed in Toba Tek Singh to promote healthy and recreational activities.
The Commissioner reiterated his resolve to ensure continuity of development and reform initiatives across the district, emphasising that no compromise would be made on the quality of public services.
