On the welfare vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the special instructions of Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, Sohail Shaukat Butt, a grand ceremony was organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, Sahiwal to distribute assistive devices to special persons.
A total of 110 wheelchairs, 65 white canes, 11 walking frames and 5 hearing aids were distributed to 191 special persons of Sahiwal district in the ceremony. The special guest of the ceremony was Member of Punjab Assembly Muhammad Arshad Malik. Director Social Welfare Asma Noreen, Deputy Director Muhammad Abbas Chauhan, Assistant Directors Muhammad Shafiq and Sobia Akram, Social Needs Officer Amjad Ali Dhako and Superintendent Malik Abdullah Irshad were also present on the occasion. Addressing the ceremony, Member Punjab Assembly Muhammad Arshad Malik said that the provision of assistive devices to special persons is a revolutionary and commendable initiative of the Punjab government. He said that this mission of public service will continue under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and all the funds required for special persons will be provided. He expressed special gratitude to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Provincial Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt for the distribution of assistive devices. Deputy Director Social Welfare Muhammad Abbas Chohan said in his address that the public welfare projects launched by the Chief Minister Punjab are exemplary. He said that the credit for initiatives like Dhee Rani Program, Himmat Card and distribution of assistive devices for special persons goes to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Provincial Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt. He added that the Social Welfare Department is always striving to reach the deserving people with their rights. At the end of the ceremony, Director Social Welfare Asma Noreen thanked the distinguished guests and participants and expressed her commitment to further improve the welfare activities of the department.
