FAISALABAD: The quality assurance in educational institutions is imperative to strengthen system, produce skilled manpower and achieving sustainable development goals. The National Accreditation Council for Education (NAEAC) is making all-out efforts in this regards to meet internationally recognized standards for prosperous Pakistan.
It was stated by Abdul Ghaffar, the Secretary, NAEAC, Higher Education Commission (HEC) who led HEC delegation during visit to University of Agriculture Faisalabad
They called on deans and directors at Syndicate Room and visited the various departments including Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Forestry, Soil and Environmental Sciences, Horticultural Sciences and Dairy Sciences and others. Dean Agriculture Dr Ghulam Murtaza, Dean Animal Husbandry Dr Qamar Bilal, Registrar Dr Asif Kamran, Principal Officer Dr Rao Zahid Abbas, Director Quality Enhancement Cell Dr Amna Sahar, Director Horticulture Dr Ahmad Sattar, Chairman Plant Breeding and Genetics Dr Azeem Iqbal Khan, Chairman Agronomy Dr Nadeem Akbar, Director Animal Dr Riaz Virk, Dr Ahsan Sattar, Dr Ejaz Ahmad, Dr Anwar Ul Haq, Dr Irfan Ahmad and others.
NAEAC delegation included Assistant Director Muhammad Faraz Afzal, Dr Muhammad Aoun, Dr Kahlid Javed, Dr Sarwat Mirza, Dr Muhammad Akbar, Muhammad Naeem, and Dr Maqshoof Ahmad.Abdul Ghaffar emphasized that keeping rapid advancements and evolving global challenges in view, it is need of the hour to ensure the curriculum befitting the demands of modern era. He added that Institute of Horticulture UAF was leading the standing with W2 category following departments including Agricultural Biotechnology; Plant Breeding and Genetics; Food Scenes; Entomology, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Livestock Management and Forestry.He said that NAEAC is committed to ensuring education programs across the country meet internationally recognized standards while remaining responsive to local and national needs.
He said that through transparent accreditation mechanisms, continuous evaluation, and capacity-building initiatives, NAEAC aims to promote a strong culture of excellence in higher education institutions. He reiterated that HEC, through NAEAC, is working closely with educational institutions and stakeholders to uplift the standard of education, strengthen public trust in academic institutions, and contribute meaningfully to human resource development and national progress.
Dr Amna Sahar said that all-out efforts are being made for teaching, research & development and innovation to contribute effectively in building-up the indigenous agriculture sector and allied sciences to achieve sustainable rapid socio-economic development. She said Quality Enhancement Cell, UAF was improving the standard of education in the areas of agriculture, veterinary sciences, agricultural engineering along with allied fields.
