FAISALABAD:The digitalization of Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) records has revolutionized service delivery, enabling the real-time online issuance of property ownership clearance certificates, TP reports and possession slips. This was highlighted by Acting Director General FDA Qaiser Abbas Rind during a briefing session for a 19-member delegation of officers from the 8th Professional Planning and Management Course at the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM) Muzaffarabad. The delegation, led by Chief Instructor KIM Abrar Ahmed, was welcomed by the Acting DG and senior FDA officials, including Chief Engineer Mehr Ayub and Directors Asma Mohsin, Junaid Hassan Manj, Sohail Maqsood Pannu and Asim Mahmood.
During the session, Acting DG FDA Qaisar Abbas Rind detailed the FDA’s organizational structure, legal framework and jurisdiction, while briefing the trainee officers on urban development activities, revenue streams and budgetary allocations. He noted that the FDA has proposed various development projects worth Rs14.5 billion, adding to its portfolio of mega-projects like the Abdullah Pur-Jhumra Road Flyover and the Kashmir Underpass on Canal Road. Currently, the FDA manages 18 residential colonies and 17 commercial markets, alongside the flagship FDA City project. This residential scheme features a state-of-the-art sports complex offering international-standard indoor facilities with further master planning and the planning has been for establishment of an Eco-Forest and Natural Park to attract both locals and tourists.The Acting Director General further discussed modern reforms in human resources and finance, upcoming administrative initiatives and the ongoing crackdown on illegal housing schemes and encroachments. Responding queries, he clarified that while the 20-year Faisalabad Master Plan is currently sub-judice, the Peri-Urban Structure Plan remains operational. Chief Instructor Abrar Ahmed expressed his gratitude to the FDA leadership for their hospitality and for sharing valuable professional insights, concluding the session with an exchange of commemorative shields. The delegation ended their visit by inspecting the FDA One-Window Counter, where Mr. Rind explained that over 27 services are efficiently provided under one roof, supported by the “1237” helpline for citizen assistance.
