The U.S. Supreme Court has temporarily halted a judge’s order requiring the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran man deported in error. His wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura, pleaded for his return on April 9. The court’s administrative stay gives more time to review the case as litigation continues. Garcia was deported on March 15 on a flight also carrying alleged Venezuelan gang members.
