Continuous rains turned Malir and Lyari streams into rivers, submerging low-lying areas of Karachi. On the mayor’s request, the Army and Rangers were called in, who along with Rescue 1122 evacuated hundreds of residents. Saadi Town, Scheme 33, Sohrab Goth, and Machar Colony were among the worst-affected areas.
