At the 2025 World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem failed to qualify for the top eight in the men’s javelin final, ending his hopes for a medal.

Arshad began his campaign with a throw of 82.73 meters, placing seventh after the initial round. His second attempt resulted in a foul, while his third throw measured 82.75 meters—slightly better than his first. A second foul in the fourth attempt ended his chances of reaching the podium.

Arshad had qualified directly for the final from Group B with an 85.28-meter throw, raising expectations for a strong performance.

Meanwhile, India’s Neeraj Chopra impressed with an opening throw of 83.65 meters, while compatriot Sachin Yadav stunned the crowd with an 86.29-meter throw to take the early lead.

Arshad Nadeem remains the only Pakistani athlete participating in this championship.
