FAISALABAD (Mian Iftikhar Ahmad)<\/strong>: The oath-taking ceremony of the Pakistan Interfaith Peace Committee was held at the TMA Hall Faisalabad. The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a prayer led by Rev. Bishop Tufail Bazmi. Mian Tahir Jamil, MPA PP-115, was the chief guest, while Kamran Bhatti was the special guest of the ceremony. During the event, notifications of like-minded Muslim and Christian men and women appointed at the central, provincial, divisional and district levels were issued. \nA large number of Muslim and Christian leaders, political and social personalities, and workers belonging to different schools of thought attended the ceremony. Mian Tahir Jamil, MPA Punjab; Kamran Bhatti; Rev. Bishop Zahid Bashir Gill; Sarfraz alias Jani; renowned political and social personality Dr. Shamoon Bhatti; Information Secretary Punjab, Pakistan Interfaith Peace Committee, Asher Anthony; President Punjab, Barrister Mian Muhammad Bilal Anwar; Ijaz Jacob Gill; Dilshad Gill; founder and chairman Malik Akbar; and central leader Dr. Adil Raja addressed the gathering.
\nThe speakers said that Pakistan is the common homeland of all its citizens and that there is a need to work together beyond all distinctions of religion, colour and race for the country\u2019s development, prosperity, security and stability. They said that the Pakistan Interfaith Peace Committee would play its role in promoting interfaith harmony, tolerance, brotherhood and peace across the country.
