\nHe said that 79 years ago, Pakistan gained independence after a historic struggle under the inspiring leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Independence Day is a symbol of the culmination of our democratic and political struggle for freedom from colonial rule. The day also provides us with an opportunity for self-accountability and introspection.
\nBishop Dr. Andreas Rahmat said that we should reflect on the country\u2019s present level of development, the challenges it faces and the opportunities available for its future progress. He said that this is the time to renew our commitment to building a strong, stable and prosperous Pakistan in accordance with the vision of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
\nHe said that we should rise above personal, political and group interests and give priority to the national interest. We must work together for the security, prosperity and development of Pakistan.
