One of India\u2019s largest private universities has suspended classes after an LPU rape allegation<\/strong><\/a> triggered student protests that later turned violent.<\/p>\n

Police have registered a case and are investigating whether an alleged rape took place at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Punjab last week. However, investigators have not yet confirmed that the incident occurred.<\/p>\n

The university has strongly rejected the allegation. Officials have described the claims spreading on social media as false and baseless.<\/p>\n

Police said no student has approached them to report an assault. Investigators have also not identified an alleged victim or suspect.<\/p>\n

Authorities have reviewed CCTV footage from the campus as part of the investigation. So far, police say the footage has not provided evidence of an attack.<\/p>\n
