The display showcases historic office equipment and preserved items associated with Captain Popham Young, the tehsil\u2019s first Colonization Officer.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Faisalabad Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh visited the newly established display with Sri Lankan High Commissioner Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne and his delegation. Officers from the divisional and district administrations also attended the visit.<\/p>\n<p>Museum officials briefed the Sri Lankan High Commissioner on the restoration and refurbishment of the historic office. The recreated office is located in the museum\u2019s first gallery.<\/p>\n<p>Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne appreciated the initiative and showed interest in returning for a more detailed tour. He also praised the efforts to preserve and promote Faisalabad\u2019s historical and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh presented the high commissioner with a model of Faisalabad\u2019s historic Clock Tower as a souvenir.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media, Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh described the historical corner as an important step towards reconnecting residents with Faisalabad\u2019s past.<\/p>\n<p>He said the display offers visitors insight into the administrative system, office equipment and working environment of Tehsil Lyalpur in 1896. It also aims to help younger generations understand the city\u2019s early development.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner explained that Captain Popham Young and Sir Ganga Ram prepared the plan for the Clock Tower, eight bazaars and surrounding settlements. The plan later played an important role in shaping Faisalabad\u2019s urban development.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh appreciated the officers involved in restoring and arranging the historical display. He encouraged residents, particularly students and young people, to visit the museum and learn about the city\u2019s historical roots.<\/p>\n<p>The new corner aims to preserve local heritage and make Faisalabad\u2019s history more accessible to the public.
