EU tech regulators charged TikTok on Friday with breaching the bloc\u2019s online content rules. They told the platform to fix the \u201crabbit hole\u201d effect of its recommender system, which keeps users watching a constant stream of similar videos. The charges are preliminary findings. EU tech chief Henna Virkkunen said that each scroll or like leads the algorithm to serve more of the same, pushing people into \u201crabbit holes they cannot easily escape from.\u201d She added that TikTok must do more to protect user well-being, including that of minors.<\/span><\/p>\n
