Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch Meets Chief Justice Yahya Afridi to Discuss Public Justice

Naveed Kamran Baloch meets Chief Justice Yahya Afridi at the Supreme Court to discuss public complaints redressal, governance reforms, and access to justice

Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch met Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi at the Supreme Court in Islamabad. During the meeting, matters related to the provision of prompt and affordable justice to citizens, effective redressal of public complaints, and measures against maladministration were discussed in detail.

On the occasion, Federal Ombudsman Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch briefed the Chief Justice about the overall performance of the Federal Ombudsman Institution. He highlighted the mechanism through which public complaints are addressed and the steps being taken to curb maladministration in various government departments. Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch stated that the Federal Ombudsman’s office is actively working to provide citizens with prompt and free relief against maladministration in government departments. He added that through its regional offices across the country, the institution is ensuring that relief reaches citizens at their doorstep.

The Federal Ombudsman further informed that the institution is introducing modern and effective systems to ensure the quick resolution of public complaints, enabling citizens to receive justice without unnecessary delays. He also emphasized that the Federal Ombudsman’s office is playing a vital role in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance while addressing public issues.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi appreciated the role of the Federal Ombudsman and stated that the institution plays a significant role in providing citizens with free and timely relief against maladministration. He remarked that institutions like the Federal Ombudsman are essential for restoring public confidence and improving the efficiency of governance systems.

The Chief Justice further stated that providing justice to ordinary citizens is a fundamental responsibility of the state, and achieving this objective requires stronger coordination and cooperation among institutions. Justice Yahya Afridi also stressed the need to further strengthen transparent and effective mechanisms for the timely redressal of public complaints.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance institutional cooperation to improve access to justice for the public. They also emphasized the importance of joint efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and the effective resolution of public grievances, ensuring that citizens’ issues are addressed quickly and efficiently.
