Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil reviews stadiums and sports complexes, emphasizing cleanliness, safety, and fully functional facilities for youth.

Toba Tek Singh: District Sports Officer(DSO) Toba Tek Singh Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil, in an exclusive conversation with our correspondent, stated that detailed visits are being conducted to various playgrounds and stadiums across the district to promote sports and improve sports infrastructure. He said that the purpose of these visits is to review ongoing development works, assess the facilities being provided to players and examine the overall condition of the grounds to ensure a quality and safe sporting environment for the youth.Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil informed that he inspected Gojra Hockey Stadium, Sports Complex Toba Tek Singh, Shaheen Football Ground Toba Tek Singh, Kamalia Sports Complex and Hockey Stadium Pir Mahal. During these visits, he thoroughly reviewed cleanliness, pitch conditions, players’ dressing rooms, availability of clean drinking water, washroom facilities, lighting systems and security arrangements. He directed the staff that no negligence in the maintenance of sports grounds would be tolerated and that all facilities must be kept functional and up to standard.
He said that the Government of Punjab is taking practical steps for the promotion of sports, and under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, engaging youth in positive activities is the need of the hour. He added that sports not only improve physical health but also instill discipline, tolerance, teamwork, and leadership qualities among young people. Therefore, it is essential to keep all stadiums and grounds in the district fully operational so that maximum youth can benefit from these facilities.The District Sports Officer further stated that the Inter-Club Competition Program is being conducted regularly in the district, under which various sports competitions are being organized. These include matches of the Women Hockey Club Gojra, Toba Tek Singh Marathon 2026 and the Inter-Club Football Championship Toba Tek Singh. A large number of young athletes are participating in these events and talented players are being provided opportunities to progress further.
He emphasized that equal opportunities are being provided to female athletes so they can also prove their abilities in the field of sports. The organization of women’s hockey and football competitions is part of this initiative to promote sports among women. He said that a healthy society can only be formed when both men and women are given equal opportunities. Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil also highlighted that improvements in stadiums and the organization of various sports events are being ensured with the cooperation of the private sector. He said that coordination is ongoing with educational institutions, colleges, schools and University of Kamalia to encourage students to actively participate in sports activities. He stressed that sports should be given importance alongside academic activities in educational institutions to ensure the well-rounded development of students.He further informed that regular training arrangements have been made in the district for various sports, including football (men and women), hockey, table tennis, boxing, volleyball, martial arts, badminton, basketball, athletics and wrestling. Under the supervision of experienced coaches, players are being trained according to modern requirements so they can perform prominently at district, divisional and provincial levels. He said that there is no shortage of talent; the real need is proper guidance and opportunities.The District Sports Officer expressed his commitment to utilizing all available resources to give Toba Tek Singh a prominent position in the field of sports. He said that the youth are a valuable asset of the nation and promoting sports is essential to keep them away from negative activities. Positive engagement in sports not only reduces social evils but also brings forward talented athletes who can bring honor to the country.He directed the concerned authorities to ensure the provision of facilities in all stadiums and grounds and to extend full support to athletes so that Toba Tek Singh can achieve new milestones in sports development.
