Rapid Population Growth Poses Major Challenge: Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem

District Health and Population Welfare Officer Toba Tek Singh Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem said that the rapidly growing population has become a major challenge to the country’s development, putting immense pressure on health, education, employment and other basic facilities.
Talking to our Bureau Chief, he said that uncontrolled population growth not only leads to economic problems but also contributes to environmental and social issues. Therefore, effective family planning is essential to address this challenge.
He further said that, in line with the directives of the Government of Punjab, the Population Welfare Department is taking comprehensive steps to raise public awareness.
In this regard, seminars, walks, community sessions and media campaigns are being organized across the district to promote the concept of a small and prosperous family. He added that religious scholars, teachers, social workers and media representatives are also being engaged to ensure the message reaches a wider audience effectively.
Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem highlighted that Family Welfare Centers, mobile service units and other facilities under the Population Welfare Department are providing equal services to both urban and rural populations.
These centers offer authentic medical consultation, contraceptives and modern family planning methods free of cost. He added that trained and experienced staff are available to guide people according to their needs, enabling them to make informed decisions.
He emphasized that it is the need of the hour to educate the younger generation about population issues, their impacts and possible solutions.
Special awareness programs are being conducted in educational institutions to encourage students to become responsible citizens and contribute to building a balanced and prosperous society.
In conclusion, he urged the public to visit government centers, seek expert guidance and fully benefit from family planning programs.
He stated that collective awareness and responsible behavior are key to ensuring a healthy, prosperous and developed Pakistan.
