RPO Faisalabad launches modern SIPS Bhawana police station to improve citizen-friendly policing

FAISALABAD: The Regional Police Officer RPO Faisalabad Sohail Akhtar Sukhera visited Chiniot on Saturday and inaugurated the newly constructed SIPS building of Bhawana Police Station, marking another step toward modernizing policing facilities and improving public service delivery.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Raja Jahangir Anwar, Commissioner Faisalabad Division, District Police Officer Dr Naveed Atif, and Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan, along with other senior officials.

During the visit, RPO Faisalabad Sohail Akhtar Sukhera and the commissioner inspected various sections of the new police station, including operational rooms, investigation offices, and residential facilities for police personnel.

The officials also reviewed arrangements designed to facilitate citizens visiting the police station and ensure a more efficient and comfortable environment for the public. Speaking to the media on the occasion, RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera said the police department remains committed to providing improved services and ensuring timely justice for the public. He stated that the establishment of a model police station in Bhawana would help transform the traditional police station culture while improving accessibility to police services for citizens.

According to the RPO, the new police station has been equipped with modern facilities in line with international standards. These include:

  • A dedicated waiting area for visitors
  • A victim support desk for women and children
  • A community interaction room
  • A Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) to settle minor disputes amicably

These features are aimed at making the police station more accessible, transparent, and citizen-friendly.

RPO Faisalabad Sohail Akhtar Sukhera further stated that improved infrastructure would provide a better working environment for police officers, enabling them to perform their professional duties more effectively and enhance overall policing standards in the region.

Local residents welcomed the establishment of the new police station and appreciated the efforts of the police department to improve public services. They assured the authorities of their full cooperation in maintaining law and order and curbing criminal activities.

The RPO noted that the initiative aligns with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to strengthen public service delivery and promote citizen-friendly policing across the province.

He emphasized that similar initiatives would continue to improve police infrastructure and enhance the quality of policing services in Punjab.
