Lahore Mourns Syed Salman Gilani, Literary Icon and Advocate of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat

World-renowned Naat reciter, poet of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, and honorary member of the Lahore Press Club, Syed Salman Gilani, passed away after a brief illness. News of his demise cast a deep pall of grief across religious, literary, journalistic, and social circles, with groups associated with the belief in the Finality of Prophethood terming his passing a great literary and religious loss. His funeral prayers were offered at Jamia Ashrafia Lahore after Zuhr prayers. A large number of people from all walks of life attended the funeral, including representatives and workers of World Council for the Protection of the Finality of Prophethood, other religious groups, scholars, muhadditheen, teachers, Huffaz, students, and members of the public. Collective prayers were offered for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks and for patience and strength for the bereaved family. Speakers said Syed Salman Gilani played a prominent role in promoting love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the message of the Finality of Prophethood through his Naat poetry. His work reflected deep devotion, spiritual passion, and religious commitment, earning him a distinguished place across the Muslim world.
He devoted his life to Islam, the honour of Prophethood, and the protection of the belief in Khatm-e-Nabuwwat. His poetry inspired love for the Prophet (PBUH) in countless hearts and helped instill religious awareness among the younger generation.
Religious scholars and leaders stated that his services will always be remembered and that his devotional poetry will continue to guide future generations. Tributes continue to pour in from across the Muslim world, with prayers being offered for his forgiveness and elevated ranks.
