A high-level U.S. delegation, led by Eric Meyer, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, met with General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at General Headquarters today. The meeting, set against the backdrop of Pakistan’s Mineral Investment Forum, saw the delegation commend the initiative, expressing confidence in Pakistan’s efforts to develop its untapped mineral resources through mutually beneficial partnerships.

Meyer highlighted the U.S. Administration’s focus on collaborating with Pakistan in mineral development, noting it as a key area of mutual interest, and acknowledged Pakistan’s improving investment climate. Both sides also discussed global developments, Pakistan’s regional security needs, and the importance of enhancing bilateral relations. They agreed on exploring both government-to-business (B2B) opportunities and expanding government-to-government (G2G) and people-to-people (P2P) cooperation.
