Faisalabad: Managing Director WASA, Saqib Raza, has directed the industrial units located on Sargodha Road to immediately carry out desilting, repair, and restoration of roadside drains, warning that failure to comply will result in recommendations for legal action being sent to the Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad against the concerned industrial unit owners. The directive was issued during a visit to Sargodha Road by the MD WASA, accompanied by DMD O&M Usman Latif, Director Drainage Shehbaz Latif, and other officers, to review the issue of illegal discharge of water by industrial units into roadside drains. On the occasion, MD WASA stated that the discharge of water into drains by industrial units on Sargodha Road causes overflow, leading to water spilling onto the main road, which creates serious problems for traffic flow and causes inconvenience to citizens. He clearly instructed the industrial unit owners to ensure complete desilting, repair, and rehabilitation of roadside drainage systems, failing which recommendations for legal action would be forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad. He further clarified that estimates for desilting, repair, and restoration of roadside drains along Sargodha Road have already been prepared and provided to the industrial unit owners, and it is their responsibility to implement the work without delay.
