Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar directs swift completion of recharge wells as WASA accelerates efforts to improve drainage and raise groundwater table ahead of monsoon season.

Faisalabad: Under the supervision of WASA Faisalabad, construction work on fifteen groundwater recharge wells is underway across the city, of which three have already been completed, and the newly constructed well at Madina Town Hockey Stadium has been formally inaugurated. A special ceremony was held in this regard, attended by Raja Jahangir Anwar and Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir, who jointly inaugurated the newly completed recharge well. On the occasion, Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza briefed the participants and stated that in light of the directives of Maryam Nawaz Sharif and under the guidance of Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, a total of fifteen groundwater recharge wells are being constructed at various locations across the city. He informed that the wells at Malkpur, near Khizra Mosque, and at Hockey Stadium Madina Town have been completed, while construction at the remaining sites is progressing swiftly and will be finalized before the monsoon season. He further stated that during rainfall, these recharge wells will filter rainwater at a rate of twenty liters per second and channel it into the ground, which will significantly help raise the underground water table. Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar directed that all projects be completed at the earliest so that improved drainage services can be ensured for citizens during the monsoon season, and emphasized that WASA Faisalabad must keep all machinery fully operational and maintain complete emergency arrangements to effectively handle any situation.
