FAISALABAD: On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the divisional administration of Faisalabad, under its supervision, has mobilized WASA Faisalabad teams in double shifts to cover open roadside and sidewalk drains across the city.
Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar has assigned targets to WASA teams to cover open roadside drains along major roads including Jaranwala Road, Bilal Road, Kutchery Road, Iqbal Stadium area, Ghanta Ghar Chowk, Kotwali Road, Government College University, and Montgomery Road. Accordingly, WASA teams are actively working on these roads during both day and night.
Meanwhile, Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza conducted an emergency visit to Jaranwala Road and other areas to review the ongoing process of covering sidewalk drains. He directed the teams to expedite the work and emphasized that the protection of public lives is the top priority, with no compromise on safety.
The MD instructed zonal officers to remain active in the field and ensure the placement of slabs over open roadside drains, along with submitting photographic evidence. He made it clear that, in accordance with the directives of the Commissioner Faisalabad, this task must be completed without delay, and there is zero tolerance for negligence or lack of attention.
