Bannu District witnessed a tragic terrorist attack on November 19, 2024, when Khwarij militants attempted to storm a joint security check post in the Malikhel area. In the ensuing firefight, six militants were neutralized by security forces.

Failing to breach the post, the attackers detonated an explosive-laden vehicle against the perimeter wall, causing significant damage. The blast led to the martyrdom of 12 personnel, including 10 soldiers of the security forces and 2 from the Frontier Constabulary, and injured several others.

A sanitization operation is underway to apprehend the perpetrators. Security forces remain resolute in eliminating terrorism, with their sacrifices reinforcing the nation’s determination to secure peace and stability.
