Faisalabad: Under the directions of the Punjab Police and in collaboration with the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), the Punjab Highway Patrol Faisalabad organized a Smog Awareness Campaign aimed at reducing the harmful effects of smog and educating the public about environmental protection. SSP Punjab Highway Patrol Faisalabad, Mirza Anjum Kamal, supervised the campaign and stated that smog poses serious health and environmental risks, which can only be mitigated through collective responsibility and awareness among the public. As part of the campaign, a road show was held at the Faisalabad–Sargodha Road, where the Highway Patrol teams, in collaboration with EPA officials, inspected smoke-emitting vehicles and took necessary actions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Drivers and commuters were educated on vehicle maintenance, the dangers of air pollution, and ways to prevent smog formation. A Road Safety and Smog Awareness Walk was also organized to further sensitize the public about traffic safety and the importance of clean air. Participants held banners and placards bearing messages about environmental protection and responsible driving.
During the activity, protective face masks were distributed among citizens to safeguard them from smog-related respiratory issues. SSP Mirza Anjum Kamal emphasized that such awareness campaigns will continue throughout the smog season to ensure a cleaner and safer environment for all.
