Samanabad academy attack: FIR still not registered against alleged suspects Danish, Talha and others

(By Muhammad Mansoor Butt)

Delay persists despite serious allegations as SHO Amna Jamil grants more time; complainant Naila appeals to CM Punjab and senior police officials for immediate justice. No FIR has been registered so far against the alleged suspects Danish, Talha, their parents and other accompanying individuals involved in the attack on a private educational academy in Samanabad, Lahore. SHO of Race Course Women Police Station, Amna Jamil, has granted the accused additional time to submit further evidence in support of their claims of innocence.

According to the complaint, the accused—accompanied by their father, mother, and other individuals—entered the academy premises, physically assaulted female teachers, intimidated and harassed several students, created an environment of fear and panic, damaged property and issued serious threats. The incident also involved a severe violation of the sanctity of chadar and chaar dewari (privacy and home-bound dignity). The affected teacher, Naila, had already submitted a written application at the Women Police Station.

Naila stated that the incident not only harmed the reputation of the institution but also negatively impacted the overall academic environment. Parents have expressed deep concern over the future of their children, fearing that such incidents could disturb students’ learning confidence and emotional stability.

Residents, parents, and teachers emphasized that educational institutions are highly sensitive spaces where the future of children is shaped. They said that such attacks are not only serious offences but also signs of growing social disorder. They demanded strict legal action against the attackers to ensure that no one dares to violate the sanctity of educational institutions, assault female teachers, or terrorize innocent students in the future.

According to SHO Amna Jamil, CCTV footage, witness statements, and evidence collected from the crime scene are being reviewed thoroughly. She stated that only after completing all legal requirements will a final decision be made regarding the registration of the FIR or arrests.

Complainant Naila once again appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran and SHO Amna Jamil to ensure strict legal action and make the accused an example under the law.
