Faisababad: In NA-96 Faisalabad, the Election Commission has suspended the notification of victory for Bilal Chaudhry, brother of Federal Minister Talal Chaudhry, due to non-compliance with the electoral code of conduct, as the candidates failed to appear despite being served notices, during the hearing the Chief Election Commissioner expressed strong displeasure stating that the code of conduct was previously violated and now their absence suggests that the federal government and the minister do not consider themselves bound by the law, according to reports Talal Chaudhry and Bilal Chaudhry submitted a request for exemption from attendance for one day which was approved while the legal team recommended strict action against the minister, the lawyer argued that Bilal Chaudhry could not appear due to electoral commitments however the Election Commission decided that he is not disqualified at this stage but the notification of his victory will remain suspended, the Chief Election Commissioner emphasized that the law applies equally to all and the commission will continue its proceedings to ensure compliance with the electoral code.
