Frontline police officers briefed on legal frameworks and coordination mechanisms to ensure timely support and justice for victims of violence

Faisalabad: An important awareness session was held at the Police Khidmat Markaz Faisalabad with frontline police officers responsible for ensuring the protection of women facing violence. The primary objective of the session was to strengthen inter-institutional coordination and enhance understanding of the legal framework related to women’s rights and protection. The session was attended by District Women Protection Officer Kanwal Shahzadi, Women Protection Officer Mrs. Sanam Zehra, Law Officer Zahid Ali Shakir, In-charge Violence Against Women Center Gulnaz Khalid, SHO Women Police Station Madiha Irshad, In-charge Khidmat Markaz Syed Muneeb Gilani, and other officials.

Kanwal Shahzadi briefed the participants in detail on key provisions of the Punjab Protection of Women Against Violence Act 2016, highlighting the role of the Police Khidmat Markaz, existing mechanisms for providing immediate assistance to victims of violence, and essential legal procedures.

The session emphasized that effective coordination and joint efforts by frontline police staff are crucial for ensuring timely support, protection, and justice for women facing violence. Participants appreciated the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening measures aimed at safeguarding women in Faisalabad.
