Faisalabad: On the directives of Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, the FDA Anti-Encroachment Team conducted a grand operation in Gulistan Colony, successfully removing all types of encroachments from Akbarabad Chowk and providing relief to the public. Using heavy machinery, permanent encroachments were demolished, while business items placed on public pathways were confiscated and taken into custody. Challans of 10 shopkeepers involved in encroachments were sent to the court of the Special Judicial Magistrate.

According to details, DG FDA took notice of public complaints and ordered the immediate removal of all encroachments from Akbarabad Chowk in Gulistan Colony. Under the supervision of Director Estate Management Junaid Hassan Manj, an FDA Anti-Encroachment Team comprising Estate Officer Aneeb Aslam Randhawa, Inspector Sanaullah, and other staff carried out the operation. During the crackdown, permanent platforms, counters, and other illegal structures were demolished, while stalls selling burgers, shawarma, BBQ, and other food items were removed, clearing public passageways.

On the instructions of the DG FDA, the Anti-Encroachment Team remained deployed at the site until late night to prevent the re-establishment of encroachments. The DG further directed that continuous monitoring of the chowk be ensured in view of public convenience, and anyone attempting to re-occupy public spaces should be handed over to the police. The FDA administration has warned shopkeepers to conduct business within their designated limits and refrain from blocking roads and pathways with encroachments, otherwise criminal cases will be registered against persistent violators.
