Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail paid a detailed visit to Sahiwal Teaching Hospital. On this occasion, Principal Sahiwal Medical College Dr. Muhammad Akhtar, Additional Commissioner Coordination Dr. Saifullah Bhatti and Medical Superintendent Dr. Khalid Khan were also with him. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail made a detailed inspection of the dialysis ward, oxygen generation plant, cardiology ward, children’s ward, pads and nursery wards. Later, he also inspected the hospital’s canteen and parking stand. During the visit, he expressed his deep anger over the poor sanitation arrangements in some wards and issued instructions to the MS and Sanitary Inspector to immediately improve the sanitation system. He also checked the duty roster of doctors posted in the wards. The Commissioner inquired about the facilities provided to the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital and their relatives, while also asking questions about the availability of medicines from the patients. He directed to make the cleaning system around the canteen more effective. During the inspection of the parking stand, the parking fees of motorcycles, bicycles and vehicles were also reviewed. The Commissioner clearly directed that strict action be taken against the elements involved in overcharging. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail said that providing quality health facilities to the people is the top priority of the government and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
