Gulrez “Gus” Khan is not a career politician—he is a seasoned healthcare entrepreneur, a principled conservative, and a man who has lived the American Dream in its fullest sense. Now running for the United States Senate from Texas, Khan is challenging Washington’s failures with solutions forged not in bureaucratic conference rooms, but in rural clinics, small towns, and family living rooms across West Texas.
Based in Lubbock, Khan enters the March 3, 2026, Republican primary with a clear and unwavering mission:
Put God, Country, and Texas First—by reviving America’s healthcare system, reopening rural hospitals, and restoring dignity, access, and affordability for every Texan.

Biography: The American Dream in Action
Gulrez “Gus” Khan’s life story embodies the enduring promise of the United States.
Born and raised in a semi-urban community in India, he immigrated to America in his early twenties, carrying little more than faith, ambition, and gratitude for the opportunity before him. Through grit, perseverance, and unshakable belief in the American system, he built a life devoted to enterprise, service, and community.
Raised in a family of physicians—including his father, Dr. T.K. Gocha, a distinguished physician in India, and his uncle, Dr. Raj Sabar, a leading physician in Texas—Gus learned early that medicine is not merely a profession; it is a calling. From them, he absorbed the values of compassion, discipline, and responsibility to those in need. Fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, Khan stands as a bridge between cultures and communities—often reminding Texans of a simple truth he has lived:

Only America makes stories like his possible.
The Candidate: A Conservative Healthcare Reformer
Known simply as “Gus,” Khan is a bridge-builder and a relentless advocate for conservative principles. As an Indian-American Republican, he proudly champions President Trump’s America First agenda—economic sovereignty, secure borders, faith, family, and freedom.
Yet his defining mission is healthcare reform—what he calls:
“Healthcare Revival: My Way.”
With more than fifteen years of frontline healthcare leadership—spanning primary-care clinics, wound-care and hyperbaric centers, hospitalist groups, surgical systems, and now co-ownership of one of Texas’s premier home health and hospice organizations—Khan brings unmatched real-world expertise to the Senate race.
But his resolve was forged not only in boardrooms and hospitals—it was born in heartbreak.
In 2018, Gulrez lost his mother at just fifty-eight years old. In the years that followed, he also lost his grandparents—devastating losses that reshaped his understanding of mortality, urgency, and purpose.
Those tragedies did not weaken him. They refined him.
Khan speaks openly about how their sacrifices made his journey in America possible.
“In many ways,” he says, “they gave their lives so I could live the American Dream. And that means I have a duty—not merely to succeed—but to serve.”
It is this deeply personal calling that drives his determination to rebuild hospitals, protect rural communities, and ensure that no Texan is denied care because of distance, bureaucracy, or neglect.
Having been given the opportunity through sacrifice, Khan believes he must now sacrifice in return—by stepping forward to provide the leadership Texas deserves in the United States Senate.

His philanthropic efforts include support for the South Plains Food Bank, Center for Global Understanding, Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS, American Heart Association, Ronald McDonald House of Charities, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, and many other worthy causes.
A Grassroots Warrior
Khan has earned trust the old-fashioned way—by showing up, organizing, and leading.
He has served as Lubbock County GOP Precinct Chair, Chairman of the 2024 Resolutions Committee, Chairman of the 2025 Vacancy Committee, and National Delegate to the Republican National Conventions in both 2020 and 2024, where he met President Donald Trump and GOP national leadership.
He previously ran for Mayor of Lubbock in 2022 and for the U.S. Congress in Texas’s 32nd District in 2024—campaigns that strengthened his conviction that Washington needs leaders shaped by communities, not consultants.
