According to details, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif arrived in Quetta on a one-day visit to Balochistan along with senior leaders. She was warmly received at Quetta Airport by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and other high-ranking officials.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also met Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jafar Khan Mandokhail at the Governor House, where the overall situation of Balochistan was discussed. On this occasion, the Governor of Balochistan presented a carpet as a gift to the Punjab Chief Minister.
Later, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, accompanied by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, met Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Captain (Retd.) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai, members of the provincial cabinet, and allied party members at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Quetta. She strongly condemned the recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan and assured full cooperation from the Punjab government.
While addressing the provincial cabinet and members of the Balochistan Assembly, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that the measures being taken by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti for public welfare and the establishment of peace in Balochistan are satisfactory and will ensure lasting peace and sustainable development.
She expressed heartfelt pleasure that her first official visit as Chief Minister was to Balochistan. Praising the spirit, sacrifices, and unwavering loyalty of the people of Balochistan towards Pakistan, she said that the people of Balochistan have always made historic sacrifices for national unity and security, and their commitment to Pakistan is truly commendable.
She assured that the Punjab government would provide all possible support to Balochistan in overcoming security and developmental challenges and reiterated that Punjab stands with Balochistan at every level. She emphasized that the eradication of terrorism is only possible through national unity, collective determination, and mutual cooperation. She further expressed her sincere desire for lasting peace, political stability, and economic prosperity in Balochistan.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti welcomed Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif to Balochistan and stated that her visit reflects brotherhood, trust, and the strengthening of inter-provincial harmony between Punjab and Balochistan.
He said that the Punjab government’s assistance of Rs. 10 billion for security forces is a timely, positive, and commendable step, symbolizing national resolve and state unity against terrorism. He added that in Balochistan, both the government and opposition are united on a common agenda of public welfare, peace, and development, and all institutions and political forces are working collectively to confront the challenges faced by the province.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her goodwill and cooperation towards peace and development in Balochistan, stating that the provided resources would enhance the professional capacity of security forces and significantly support the fight against terrorism. He reaffirmed that the government of Balochistan is fully determined to completely eradicate terrorism and ensure lasting peace in the province.
