On March 19, Ambassador Jiang Zedong transferred emergency cash assistance to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society on behalf of the Chinese Red Cross Society. The transfer ceremony was attended by Pakistani Foreign Secretary Amna, Chairman of the Red Crescent Society Farzana, and a Xu Space Research Associate from China.
Jiang Zedong reaffirmed China’s strong opposition to all forms of terrorism and strongly condemned the train hijacking in Balochistan. He expressed deep condolences to the victims, sincere sympathies to the bereaved families, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. To assist Pakistan in the medical treatment of the injured and post-care arrangements, the Chinese Red Cross Society decided to provide emergency cash assistance.
Amna and Farzana expressed their heartfelt gratitude to China for its support and stated that Pakistan was deeply moved by China’s firm assistance during this critical time. They emphasized that this gesture reflects the iron-clad brotherly friendship between the two nations and assured that the Chinese aid would be utilized immediately to maximize its effectiveness.
