Faisalabad:The FDA Board of Governors has unanimously approved the sale of 284 FDA-owned residential plots via a lucky draw with a four-year installment plan. These plots are located in various blocks of FDA City, comprising 189 plots of one kanal and 95 plots of ten marlas. The FDA Governing Body meeting was held at the Commissioner’s Office conference room under the chairmanship of Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar, attended by Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir, Additional Commissioner Asif Chauhan, and representative officers from the Punjab Finance Department, Housing and Urban Development, Local Government, and Planning and Development. Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry briefed the attendees on the agenda details and the authority’s administrative and developmental affairs. Additional Director General FDA Qaiser Abbas Rind, Chief Engineer Mehr Ayub, and Directors Asma Mohsin, Junaid Hassan Manj, Yasir Ejaz Chatha, Sohail Maqsood Pannu, among other officials, were also present.
The meeting commenced with the ratification of the previous governing body meeting’s proceedings. It was further detailed that successful applicants in the lucky draw would pay the plot prices over four years, though earnest money of Rs 250,000 for 10-marla plots and PKR 500,000 for one-kanal plots must be submitted with the application form. Additionally, the meeting approved the adoption of various government notifications and other administrative matters. Commending the decision to sell plots through a lucky draw, the Commissioner of Faisalabad emphasized the need to design further business models to ensure the institution’s financial stability. He noted that the FDA plays a crucial role in modern urban development; therefore, future planning will be aligned with the Punjab government’s development agenda and a fresh vision. The Director General FDA explained that the shift to a lucky draw with easy installments was decided after public auctions failed to yield encouraging results. He reaffirmed the commitment to aligning FDA services with modern requirements and the specific needs of the citizens.
