Balochistan’s Major Success: 138 Stolen Vehicles Recovered, 9 Terror Plots Foiled

A high-level meeting of the Balochistan Safe City Authority was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti. Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir Khan, gave a detailed briefing on the performance and initiatives of the Safe City Authority.
The briefing revealed that through effective surveillance by the Balochistan Safe City Authority, 138 stolen vehicles from across the country have been traced. In a timely action, 9 suspicious activities were identified, foiling major terrorism attempts. The Authority has also provided 631 crucial pieces of evidence to the police related to various crime scenes. It was further informed that the 15 Madadgar Emergency Response Service has been affiliated with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).
It was decided in the meeting that to further enhance the capacity of the Balochistan Safe City Authority, assistance will be sought from the Punjab Safe City Authority. In this regard, Chief Minister Balochistan has sent a formal letter to the Chief Minister of Punjab requesting cooperation.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the Balochistan Safe City Authority is playing an effective role in maintaining law and order and preventing crime, and its performance is encouraging. He said that the protection of citizens’ lives and property will be further ensured through the effective use of modern technology.
The Chief Minister stated that strengthening the Safe City system and aligning it with modern requirements is among the top priorities of the government. Timely detection of crimes and suspicious activities can make police operations more effective. He directed that the modern surveillance system be expanded to more areas of the province for the protection of citizens and that full benefit be taken from the experience of the Punjab Safe City Authority in this regard.
