India and the United States have agreed to commence discussions aimed at resolving ongoing trade and tariff disputes, following a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As part of this initiative, India has committed to increasing its imports of U.S. oil, gas, and military equipment.

The two nations are also working towards a defense-industrial cooperation roadmap to facilitate technology transfer and co-production of defense equipment. This includes potential projects in areas such as air combat, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and undersea domain technologies.

Additionally, the U.S. has announced plans to boost military sales to India, with discussions underway for the potential sale of F-35 fighter jets.
