Iraq’s Oil Minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani has revealed that the Iranian oil tankers recently seized by U.S. forces in the Gulf were using forged Iraqi documents. He emphasized that Iraq had no role in these shipments and is investigating the matter to prevent further misuse of its credentials.

The U.S. has been actively targeting Iranian oil exports, citing sanctions violations. Meanwhile, Iran has condemned the seizures, calling them acts of “piracy.” This development adds to the already tense situation in the Gulf, where U.S.-Iran relations remain strained.
