Police in Jaipur have arrested seven people, including the victim’s daughter, after a fatal road accident was allegedly staged as a contract killing linked to a property dispute and a government job claim.
A fatal road accident in Jaipur is being investigated as an alleged contract killing after police arrested seven suspects, including the victim’s daughter, claiming the crash was deliberately orchestrated.
According to investigators, Neeraj Sharma, a Lower Division Clerk (LDC) at a Jaipur court, was intentionally run over by an SUV in what authorities describe as a planned attack disguised as a traffic accident.
Police allege the conspiracy involved a payment of Rs7 lakh and was motivated by a family property dispute as well as the possibility of obtaining a compassionate government job following Sharma’s death.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police Detail Alleged Conspiracy
Investigators said Neeraj Sharma had secured her government position through a compassionate appointment after the death of her husband, Vijay Kumar Sharma.
Police claim Sharma’s daughter, Ayushi Sharma, wanted to benefit from the same employment scheme and was also involved in an ongoing dispute over family property.
Authorities allege these issues formed the motive behind the alleged murder plot.
Fatal Crash Under Investigation
According to police, the incident occurred on July 3 after Sharma dropped her son at a coaching institute in Jaipur’s Pratap Nagar area.
While returning home at around 4:45 p.m., a Scorpio SUV allegedly struck her at high speed. Police said the impact threw Sharma nearly 100 feet, and she died at the scene.
Investigators later concluded the collision may have been deliberately planned rather than an accidental road crash. Police have taken seven individuals into custody in connection with the case, including the victim’s daughter.
Authorities are continuing to examine evidence, question suspects and determine the full extent of the alleged conspiracy. Officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and all accused are entitled to due process until the allegations are tested in court.
