Under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a ceremony was organized on the prevention of smog and public awareness on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faisal Saleem Chaudhry. In which Assistant Commissioner Adnan Bashir Warraich Kahna, Chief Officer District Council Mandi Bahauddin Chaudhry Muhammad Fayyaz Warraich, Regional Manager Mudassar Javed, Tehsil Manager of GWMC Arshad Dogar, Bureau Chief Samaa Lahore and Representative PTV News Mandi Bahauddin Raja Muhammad Ayub, Tehsil Manager Abdul Ghafoor, Assistant Manager Rana Saqib, Assistant Information Officer Atif Munir, Raja Hamza Ayub, officers of various government departments, social leaders, teachers and students participated. Assistant Commissioner Mandi Bahauddin Adnan Bashir Warraich said that smog is a serious environmental challenge that requires collective efforts to address. A clean Punjab is not possible without public cooperation, every citizen has to play his part. Tehsil Manager Abdul Ghafoor and Assistant Manager Rana Saqib said that burning of garbage should be avoided, smoke from vehicles and waste from factories should be controlled so that environmental pollution can be reduced. The participants also expressed their determination to fulfill Maryam Nawaz’s dream of a green and lush Punjab. At the end of the event, a “Smog Awareness Walk” was also held, in which pamphlets and masks were also distributed to the citizens regarding the importance of environmental protection, planting trees and cleanliness. The event ended with the participants’ determination and slogan “Clean Punjab, Healthy Pakistan”.
