Damascus, 24 February 2025 – Syria’s new President Ahmed al-Sharaa has received an official invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend an emergency Arab League summit in Cairo on March 4, the Syrian presidency announced on Sunday.
The invitation marks a significant step in Syria’s reintegration into the Arab world, following the downfall of Bashar al-Assad. The summit is expected to address key regional issues, with Syria’s participation signaling a renewed diplomatic role in Arab affairs after years of isolation.
