Painting, Photography, Drama, Music, Storytelling, Sports, Food Festival and More to Celebrate the City’s Heritage۔
Faisalabad : In line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, preparations have begun for a series of cultural mega events under the theme “My Beautiful Faisalabad” aimed at promoting the city’s heritage and connecting citizens with local culture. A meeting of the programme’s steering committee was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar, in which representatives of various departments and institutions briefed the participants on the ongoing preparations. It was revealed that the December festival will feature painting, digital photography and handicraft competitions, along with scheduled activities such as fine arts exhibitions, short drama performances, music shows, literary sessions and a special Qawwali Night. In addition, exhibitions of books written on the history of Faisalabad, storytelling sessions, children’s festivals, major sports events, flower shows, heritage promotion activities, a food festival and a “Decorate Your Street” community event will also be part of “My Beautiful Faisalabad.” The Commissioner directed all departments to ensure maximum public participation and make the events vibrant and inclusive. Subcommittees formed for various segments of the festival presented detailed updates during the meeting, which was attended by Additional Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Director Public Relations/Director Faisalabad Arts Council, Divisional Sports Officer, Director Local Government, President Women Chamber of Commerce, representatives from G.C. University, different colleges and officers from various departments. The forum agreed to take all necessary measures to make “My Beautiful Faisalabad” a cultural landmark event and a true representation of the city’s identity.
