The Provincial Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, while addressing a press conference at the Chaman Press Club along with district leaders Qari Ataullah Muslim, Dr. Bismillah Rodi, Maulvi Mustafa, Agha Jan, and other party representatives, strongly condemned the raids on the homes of political workers, the violation of the sanctity of homes, and inhumane actions.
He stated that the state must not violate the sanctity of homes and family privacy under any circumstances.
Referring to a recent incident, he said that the late-night raid on the house of Provincial Deputy General Secretary Qari Imdadullah, involving the violation of chador and four walls (privacy and dignity of the household), is a very serious matter. “We strongly condemn this act and demand an immediate, transparent, and impartial investigation,” he said.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman further stated that due to the closure of the Chaman–Pakistan-Afghanistan border, poor and working-class people are facing extreme hardship and are being forced to live a life of hunger and deprivation.
He said that denying people entry at the Chaman Pak-Afghan border despite having complete legal documents is unacceptable under any circumstances. The stoppage of cargo vehicles and the suspension of transit trade at the border have caused losses amounting to billions of rupees.
He added that rising inflation and unemployment are pushing young people toward crime, which is deeply alarming and unfortunate.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leader demanded an end to severe electricity load-shedding in Chaman and called for an immediate halt to the violation of merit in all government departments, urging the implementation of a transparent and fair system.
He also demanded that the humiliation of the public at check posts be stopped immediately and that respectful treatment of citizens be ensured at all costs.
In conclusion, he warned that if these issues are not addressed seriously, the public will be left with no option but to exercise their constitutional and democratic right to protest
