RPO Sohail Akhtar meets with MCMC delegation

FAISALABAD: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad, Sohail Akhtar Sukhera meet with a delegation of officers undergoing training 45th MCMC Course and briefed them on modern policing initiatives and law enforcement reforms in the Faisalabad region.The visiting delegation was welcomed by the RPO along with City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Sahibzada Bilal Umar, SSP Operations Furqan Bilal, SSP Investigation Captain (retd) Saleem Abbas and other senior police officers.During the briefing, the RPO gave a detailed overview of the working of various regional police departments, highlighting that all police wings in Faisalabad region have been transitioned to digital technology. He said that both the Investigation and Operations units have been restructured on modern lines, in line with contemporary policing models. The participants were also informed about recent digital policing reforms and the shift towards a more efficient, technology-driven police system.
RPO Sohail Sukhera further apprised the delegation of the prevailing law and order situation in the Faisalabad region, with a particular focus on foreign nationals’ security, airport security and the protection of key installations. He said comprehensive security arrangements are in place to ensure the safety of foreigners and sensitive sites across the region.
The RPO also briefed the visiting officers on various police initiatives launched in Faisalabad, including the Safe City project, Police Vision programme, Khidmat Markaz, Anti-Harassment Cell, Tahaffuz Markaz and the establishment of Gender-Based Violence Units. He said these projects aim to curb crimes against women and vulnerable segments of society and to provide a safer environment for all citizens.Highlighting efforts to enhance women’s safety, he termed the Women Safety App and the Virtual Women Police Station as significant steps towards ensuring a sense of protection and accessibility for women. The delegation was also informed about welfare measures for police personnel and the sacrifices rendered by police martyrs and ghazis in the line of duty.The RPO Sohail Sukhera concluded the session by sharing the vision of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, regarding innovation within the police force, improved public service delivery and effective crime control. He underscored that ongoing reforms are aimed at strengthening public trust in the police and improving overall law enforcement outcomes.The delegation appreciated the comprehensive briefing and the initiatives undertaken by the Faisalabad police to modernise policing and enhance public safety.
